Local Materials

We are always striving to reduce our carbon footprint and run an ethical business. We are doing this in a number of ways:
• Reducing ‘travel miles’ – We are proud to announce that all the wood for your structure will be sourced and processed by hand in Haslemere, Surrey! As no heavy machinery is used to deforest and process the timber, minimal damage is done to the local ecosystem. Some more decorative parts of the structure will be sourced from your own plentiful Hazel supplies. The ethical and sustainable sourcing of materials will be addressed in our workshops; along with some hands on coppicing.
• We’re actively supporting small UK based industry rather than multi-million pound corporations. – All the rope-work for the rope walkway, cargo net and banisters is made by some of the last traditional rope makers in the UK in Chatham, Kent.
• No chemicals – By sourcing naturally rot resistant hard woods, we do not need to use harsh wood preservatives. No Chemicals
