The Reciprocal/ Whirling Roof

A whirling roof is a self supporting structure requiring no central beams or supports.

With voluminous headroom and beautiful chestnut beam work the roof is a mesmerizing and engaging spiral structure; which draws your eye through the spiralling apex to the canopy above.

It took a little over five hours to complete and we couldn’t be happier with the finished product!

All the timber for this garden tree-play-house has been sourced from the local area. The Chestnut has been cut and peeled by hand and everything else by an independent sawmill in the local area.  It’s a thoroughly ‘green’ structure.
